About the Project
This project is a study of marketing concepts used by the music
industry. More particularly, it is a study of marketing concepts used on
new media. New media include the World Wide Web, which is the major
focus, among other new media. Are marketing concepts used by the music
industry similar to those used outside the industry? The music industry is
unique in the type of product it offers to the general consumers of the
world. Is it effective to copycat strategies? Or is it important for
music industry companies to come up with unique campaigns?

The exact subject is still under development, but one can begin to
understand where I am headed with this one. Dr. Ron Bauerly, Professor of
Marketing at Western Illinois University, has notably undertaken this
project with me as coauthor.
The American Society of Business and
Behavorial Sciences has accepted this research paper for publication
in its 1999 journal. I will be traveling to the Society's national
conference in Las Vegas to present my paper with my coauthor on Saturday
the 13th of February.
